Experience and Education
As chief operating officer for Mariner, Cheryl supports the CEO by developing, communicating and executing on strategic priorities for the firm. She works to ensure that decisions made regarding potential opportunities are in alignment with the firm’s enterprise-level goals. As part of that effort, Cheryl is integrally involved in the evaluation of more than 200 acquisition opportunities annually through her leadership of the firm’s Corporate Development and Strategy team.
Cheryl is a member of the firm’s executive committee and is charged with integrating back-office functions to support the wealth advisors across the country who serve clients. Prior to her current role, she held the positions of chief of staff and chief compliance officer for the firm.
As part of her role, Cheryl champions initiatives to ensure the firm fosters an inclusive culture to uphold the firm’s values such as belonging and caring. She values associates for the unique perspectives they offer as they contribute to our client-first, personalized approach to wealth management.
Cheryl has a bachelor’s degree in finance from Arizona State University and a Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree from the University of Kansas School of Law. She also has a Master of Laws (LL.M) degree in taxation from the University of San Diego.
